Finger Lakes Auto, Truck and Marine Napa Returns for Up and Comer Award

In 2007, Finger Lakes Auto, Truck and Marine helped out the future modified winners with their “Up and Comer Award”. That will continue in 2008, but they will also support those drivers moving through the ranks in the sportsman division.

For those that have yet to taste the sweet feeling of Victory Lane in their respective division, but are coming tantalizingly close will get some encouragement to keep striding forward.

Each night, a Gift Certificate to Finger Lakes Auto, Truck and Marine, located on 106 Lake St. in Penn Yan, will be presented to the highest finishing modified and sportsman competitor that has yet to win at Black Rock in their division. This will allow recipients to pull up near Victory Lane each night and in front of the crowd until they move 20 feet further up the front stretch.

“What Cindy and Tom (Vollmer of Finger Lakes Napa) started last year with the mods was fantastic,” said BRS General Manager Alex Hoag. “To step up this year and do even more is more than we could ask for.”

Among those to claim Up and Comer Awards in 2007 in the modified division were John Pfeffer, Dale Welty, Dave DuBois, Serenity Sutherland, Mark Bristol, Trevor Sutherland and Chris Clark. Other competitors such as Eric Fisher and Brian Doolittle figure to also contend next year for the award.

Sportsman competitors such as Dave Yehl, Chuck Winslow and Marcus Dinkins will be among those that will vie for the new award for the Hoselton Automotive Sportsman division.
