Saturday at Black Rock an “All-You-Can-Eat Buffet” of Racing

DUNDEE, NY - The final chance of the year to get your fill of short track racing is coming up this Saturday and there is something for everyone.

The Black Rock Speedway will host their final event of 2008, with more laps of racing in one day than there has ever been in the history of the Dundee Oval.

The featured event of the racing card, presented by Hoosier Racing Tires, is the 4th Annual Street Stock World 100. This event is sure to have the highest car count with the weekend warriors chasing after the $2,000 top prize. As an added bonus, each of the A-Main starters will get $200 just to take the green flag.

For the second year in a row, each street stock competitor will take a single lap of time trials to qualify them for their starting spots in the heats. This time around though, the street stocks are one of six classes that will be on the clocks as part of the special event.

The Street stocks, 358-modifieds, sportsman, BRP CanAm Late Models, ESDCA Mod Lites and 4-Cylinders will ALL be running time trials.

The 358-modfieds run their final special $3,000-to-win show, with a number of invaders likely to appear.

The crate sportsman will run a special $1,000-to-win, $100-to-start event that was added just a few weeks ago.

The BRP CanAm Late Model Series will yet again conclude their schedule with the ISKY Racing Cams Championship at BRS. Defending Series Champ Jeff Chesebro is again in a fierce point battle, this time with Steve Dixon, as it comes down to the wire.

The ESDCA Mod Lites will run the 4/10-mile oval for the first time to complete their grueling schedule.

Some 4-cylinders will have a chance to “double-dip” as any cars conforming to BRS rules will be able to compete in two features. All 4-cylinders that conform to their own track’s rules (rulebook required) will compete in an open $300-to-win event. Those that also meet the Black Rock specifications, will play twice to round out the season with a $300-to-win Lutomske Memorial Race.

This event, also presented by Home Necessities, will begin with Pit Gates opening at 9:00 AM, with the first Hot Laps starting at 10:00 AM. Time Trials will start at 11:30 with racing getting underway at 2:30.
