Black Rock Season Championships on the Line Friday Night

Famous Motorhome Demoliton Derby Helps to Conclude Regular Season

Rich Vleck, DUNDEE, NY, (August 20, 2013)- Even though the Black Rock Speedway still will be racing in to November this year, the 2013 regular season comes to an end this Friday and because of that, seven championships will be crowned as well.

Jim’s RV and Knapp & Schlappi Lumber Contractors will present Championship Night this Friday, featuring the popular Motorhome Demolition Derby at the end of a full night of action.  By the time the motorhomes start their carnage, the seven champions will be known, but at this point that picture is still unclear.

Perhaps the most intriguing championship battle is in the sportsman division where Brady Fultz has closed a seemingly-insurmountable 47-point deficit on Donnie Lawson down to just four points heading in to the final night.  Fultz, the defending track champion, has won three of the last four features, including a dominating performance in last week’s 20-lap event to put pressure on the three-time track champion.  Fultz will need to finish approximately two spots in front of Lawson in the feature on Friday.

The late model point race is not quite as tight, however four drivers still have an opportunity to walk away with the crown.  Reigning track champion John Waters has built up a 13-point advantage on the strength of his three recent wins and will just need a top-five finish to secure the title once again.  Should Waters falter thugh, Jason Knowles, Bruce Miller and Brian Knowles are all in position to capitalize.

Jeremy Potzrebowski has all but locked up his first career BRS track championship in the street stock division.  Potzrebowski holds a 33-point lead over Rich Sharpsteen II, meaning he simply needs to start the feature to secure his hard-fought title quest.

Easily the tightest championship chase this Friday can be found in the IMCA Modified division.  Rich Karlnoski and Phil Yaw, two fan favorites, are separated by just a single point as they both seek their first championship in their third year in the division.  One point is the difference between each finishing position in the feature so it will be a simple case of whoever comes out on top this Friday will have the title.

James Kreidler III is the only driver to officially secure a championship, as he holds a whopping 47-point lead in the Signs Plus of Kanona 4-Cylinder division.  Jeremy Trank leads the FWD 4-Cylidner standings by 31 points and simply needs to start on Friday, while Allison Teed is 19 points clear in the Black Rock Bandits and also will just need to start her feature.

Race action will kick off at 6:45 P.M. Friday Night.  Remember that kids 16 and under are free as always and that the night will round out with the can’t-miss motorhome demo derby.  For more information, visit www.BlackRockSpeedway.com
