A Letter Of Thanks From Jeff Searles' Family

We received this letter today from the family of Jeff Searles and wanted to share with our race teams and fans.  We thank the family for being in attendance with us on Friday night.

"On behalf of Jeff Searles' family, I want to thank the racing community, Black Rock Speedway, D.B. Miles Insurance Agency, Cam Sutherland & Sons Construction, Seneca Lake Duck Hunter's Association and Miller's Landscaping for their continued support and generosity that was extended and provided for a wonderful night of activities in memory of Jeff.

You were all able to capture the essence of Jeff, an avid race fan with a waving red rag, and always feeling the need for speed.  It was quite emotional for me to see every race car flying Jeff's signature red rag; what a tribute to the connectedness of the racing community.

The donated bicycles by D.B. Miles Insurance Agency, Cam Sutherland & Sons Construction, and helmets, donated by Miller's Landscaping were a great choice for Jeff's night.  He loved riding his own bike, donning a genuine racing helmet.  Again, you have captured the essence of Jeff.

The passing of the helmet collected $450 to be split between the Himrod Fire Department and the Seneca Lake Duck Hunter's Association.  Your contributions are deeply appreciated, and will be put to good use to further support each one's efforts to contribute to their local communities.

We, Jeff's family, want to applaud you and say 'thank you' for your many years of including Jeff into your pits, your tracks, your racing families, and creating lasting bonds of friendship, all of which I know he enjoyed and cherished.  We hope to see you all again next year.

Plans are already under way to make Jeff Searles Memorial Race Night a yearly tradition at Black Rock Speedway.  Thank you to everyone who attended and participated Friday night.
